So, here’s one for you dear readers to ponder.  I got back my routine blood tests.  My cholesterol is great.  My blood pressure is where it belongs—all thanks to better living through medication. Taking daily BP and cholesterol meds for about 4 months got my blood chemistry back in line, and taking B12 shots and oral Vitamin E fixed my vitamin deficiencies.  Feeling good and feeling strong after being sober for just 56 days.  But this little anomaly caught my eye.  My liver enzymes spiked.

Drs. Reddit and Google suggested that this can happen after going dry and the liver, once it senses that it no longer has to process toxins all day, switches gears and goes into repair mode.  Like any other bodily function, it immediately goes into overdrive and creates way too much enzyme than it will ever need and they show up in your blood panels.

For reference, I was drinking about 10 oz a day of vodka for about 2 years.  I’m getting another blood test in a couple of weeks to track this as per my REAL doctor’s advise.  Does anyone have any experience with this?
