When I go to AA meetings, I love listening to the shares. It seems like I can really relate to about 80% of the people’s stories as they share. I sit there and nod my head and think to myself, “Yeah, that was me, too!” or “Wow, I thought I was the only person who did that when they were drinking!”

For me, thoughts like that strengthen the fellowship. I feel like I’m among my people; I can relate to everyone in this room. It’s nice to feel a part of something where you can be in a place where you can relate and share without judgment.

Then, there’s the other 20%. Those are the people that I listen to and think to myself, “Wow. I’m really lucky that never happened to me, YET!”  I’m in the right place.  I think I’ll keep coming back to my meetings.
