The Lord’s Prayer

Also known as the “Our Father”, it is a central Christian prayer taught by Jesus, found in the Gospel According to Matthew (6:9-13) and Luke (11:2-4).

Here’s the commonly recited version:

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom
and the power
and the glory forever.
Amen.
